Maintenance, repair and operations is fixing any sort of mechanical or electrical device should it become out of order or broken (known as repair, unscheduled or casualty maintenance) as well as performing the routine actions which keep the device in working order (known as scheduled maintenance) or prevent trouble from arising (preventive maintenance). MRO may be defined as, "All actions which have the objective of retaining or restoring an item in or to a state in which it can perform its required function. The actions include the combination of all technical and corresponding administrative, managerial, and supervision actions." MRO operations can be categorised by whether the product remains the property of the customer, i.e., a service is being offer or whether the product is brought by the reprocessing organisation and sold to any customer wishing to make the purchase. (Guadette, 2002) The former of these represents a closed loop supply chain and usually has the scope of maintenance, repair or overhaul of the product. The latter of the categorisations is an open loop supply chain and is typified by refurbishment and remanufacture. The main characteristic of the closed loop system is that the demand for a product is matched with the supply of a used product. GNU Free Documentation License How do I repair the damaged paintwork on my car bonnet? Q. Last summer I pressure washed my car with an industrial machine and the paint started to bubble a bit, then bit by bit, my bonnet has now lost half of its paint which makes my car look like a wreck. I would really like to repair it. Is there any way I can repaint it myself (in which case, what products do I buy?). If not, how much might it cost for it to be repaired professionally? Asked by Olive - Mon Sep 21 11:57:07 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Not really a simple job unless you have access to a compressor & spray-gun. If these tools aren't a problem the main thing to bear in mind is preparation. The better sanded, filled & undercoated the better. Applying the top coat is a little more skillful as runs or orange peel effect ruin the final outcome. The best thing to do is remove the bonnet & prepare it for top coat yourself, then pay a professional sprayer to finish the job for you. They will get the correct colour match & you'll end up with a great job for a fraction of the cost. There is an easy fix for a cigarette burn in your carpet. Snip carpet fibers from another part of the carpet that is not noticeable. Saturate the burn area with glue and then use tweezers to place the carpet fibers on top of the glue. It is that simple! Q. My cat scratched a leather couch. There is one small scratch and several tiny scratches. She didnt scratch all the way through the leather. I saw some leather repair kits at the store. Will they work? Asked by bio mom - Tue Jun 12 21:26:21 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Please do not use shoe polish it will come off on your clothes. DIY kits of the internet are also unlikely to work. You need to send a sample of the leather to LTT who will mix a colour and send you exact instructions of how to do the work.
