Most people recover quickly and have minimal complications. Others, myself included have complications that can go on for a very very long time. I had a bi-lateral inguinal hernia repair by conventional methods where both inguinal canals were opened up and mesh installed. I had a adhesion develop on the left side that felt like someone was crushing my left testicle every time I tried to walk or straighten out my left leg. I went through 8 months of physical therapy beforee I could walk without excruciating pain and then it was almost another 6 months befor the pain was nearly gone altogether.
